The most important lens specification is full UV protection: 100% UVA, UVB, and UVC. Not all sunglasses labelled 'UV protection' meet this standard — some only block UVA and UVB, leaving UVC exposure unaddressed. Polarized vs non-polarized is the most common question. Polarized lenses eliminate the glare from reflective surfaces — water, wet roads, snow, sand — which makes a significant difference to comfort in bright outdoor conditions. For frame shape, consider your face shape. Rounder faces generally suit angular frames; more angular faces suit rounder or oval frames.
